Bean Bowers has been climbing in the mountains for many years.

He is most passionate about alpine rock routes and ski mountaineering, but has also done expeditions to Antarctica, summitted Mount Logan, Mount St. Elias, and Denali twice. Perhaps all that time climbing and camping in the snow has highlighted how precious the alpine rock experience is and why he loves the Tetons. Bean has guided for the last 16 years throughout western North America, and extensively on the granite walls and spires of Patagonia, with guided ascents of Cerros Fitz Roy, Poincenot, St. Exupery, Mermoz, and Guillaumet. Work, other than guiding, includes technical rigging for camera crews, logistical support for films, and building houses. Bean makes his home in the San Juan mountains of Colorado with his wife Helen and their two dogs Squirt and Stella.
