Kids' Camp and Parent/Kid's Camp
Kids' Camp - These day camps will be held every Wednesday for five weeks for kids between 11 and 14. Each subsequent week will build on skills learned in the earlier weeks. The camp days will be held at both of our practice areas - Hidden Falls in Grand Teton National Park and Teton Village. If participants qualify, the final day of the camp will be a day climb such as Baxter's Pinnacle, one of the classic climbs in the Tetons.Days at Hidden Falls will include a short boat ride across Jenny Lake and a short hike to our climbing area. Days at Teton Village will include a Gondola ride and a slightly longer hike. The first four sessions of the camp will begin at approximately 8:30am and will end at approximately 4:30pm. The start time for the last day will depend on the activity for the day, but may begin as early as 6:45am.
Beginning climbers must sign up for all five days. Climbers with some outdoor experience can sign up for only the last three days. Our office staff or guides will help you make the decision regarding which option is best for your child.
We must have a minimum of three participants to run this camp so find some friends and call to sign up. Or, bring your own group of three kids and we can set up the camp on days of your choosing.
Parent/Kid's Camp - This camp will also be held on Wednesdays. This is a great way to introduce younger children to climbing and to meet other families with similar interests. Kids from 5 to 10 and their parent or another responsible adult (over the age of 18) may participate. Activities will be primarily for the children, with parents or other adults participating as much or as little as they choose (although their presence is required). Each parent/adult may bring up to two children. Camp will take place at either our Hidden Falls practice area in Grand Teton National Park or at Teton Village.
Participants must sign up for at least two sessions, and we must have at least two parent/kid combos in order to run this camp. We can also arrange Parent/Kid Camps on dates of your choosing as long as you have at least two parent/kid combos sign up for a minimum of two sessions.
