The Lake Ledges route on the eastern edge of Disappointment Peak provides an easy ascent of a high (11,618 feet) Teton peak.

We will hike five miles to beautiful Amphitheater Lake, and then continue upward until we reach the lower cliffs of Disappointment Peak. Various easy to moderate leads end at the peak's vast, plateau-like top. Another strenuous hike takes us to the summit tower, which, again, can be ascended by several different routes. The blocks of beautifully wind-sculpted rock offer excellent views of the surrounding peaks--Nez Perce, South Teton, Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Mount Owen, and Teewinot.

While this is one of the easiest peaks Exum climbs, it provides a exhilarating day in the high mountains. Many guides use it as a training climb in early season.
