Five Day Ski/Snowboard Mountaineering Seminar

Continuous ski and snowboard descents drop over a vertical mile down couloirs, steep faces, bowls and valleys beyond. Designed for advanced adventurous skiers and snowboarders who are ready to take their skiing/snowboarding to the next level. Over the years our fun and affordable ski/snowboard camps have given hundreds of ski mountaineers the skills and confidence needed to tackle mountains and couloirs throughout North America and the world. Graduates of our programs have gone on to ski the Grand Teton, heli-ski in Alaska, ski the off-piste steeps of Europe and tackle the volcanoes in South America.

Skills covered in the course include: alpine climbing skills (snow climbing and easy ice and rock climbing in Randonee boots, with and without crampons), use of an ice axe in snow and on easy ice, self-arrest with and with out skis, transitions in and out of skis in steep terrain, anchors in snow and rock, rappelling with skis on, skiing while on belay, avalanche awareness, alpine navigation (map reading and route finding) and rescue beacon practice.
