The Backcountry Ski Weeks offer you the chance to enjoy some of the most impressive terrain in the country while increasing your knowledge of snow science and terrain evaluation. You will also increase your technical abilities with tips from PSIA-certified instructors. Learn about ski mountaineering or just ski blower powder in the trees. It's all available from Exum Mountain Guides and the Alpine House.

The Alpine House Lodge & Cottages, in partnership with Exum Mountain Guides, is excited to offer a new ski experience in Jackson Hole this winter. Our Backcountry Ski Weeks feature 6 nights of lodging at the Alpine House and 5 days of adventure skiing in the Tetons.

The concept behind these week-long programs is to not only offer our guests cozy, classy accommodations, but to pair that with world-class guiding, amazing terrain, and plenty of willing ski partners for the backcountry.

Come alone, come with your partner, or come with friends. We organize everything so that you can enjoy your ski vacation and take full advantage of the wild terrain of Grand Teton National Park in winter.

Our ski weeks bring together a diverse range of people from all over the world who share a common bond of a love of the mountains, skiing, and adventure.

The Alpine House, situated in the heart of Jackson, Wyoming, is only a short drive away from acres of untracked powder in Grand Teton National Park. Your day will begin with a chef-prepared breakfast that will fuel your day in the mountains.

Your guide, from world-renowned Exum Mountain Guides, will work hard to create a good, fun chemistry in the group. Careful thought will be given to the itineraries that are chosen for the day, using years of experience to sniff out the best powder available. The ski week is limited to 20 guests total, with a guide ratio of no more than 4 skiers with each guide.

Spend your day skinning up striking Teton peaks, earning your turns for the descent. Terrain will be chosen according to the group’s ability, and can range from wide open powder slopes to steep, north-facing couloirs. No matter what, we guarantee it will be memorable. Three days will be spent in the backcountry of the Tetons, and one day will be an open option for riding lifts at the infamous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

After your day in the mountains, come back to the lodge for a cold beer and to swap stories. The ski week includes one family-style dinner at the Alpine House, followed by a special slide show where local legends will share stories of their adventures. Other nights, you are free to discover some of the excellent restaurants that Jackson has to offer, many within walking distance of the Alpine House.

On our rest day, there will be an afternoon of avalanche education taught by some of the most qualified avalanche experts in the country. You will get a chance to practice what you have learned out in the field: digging pits, practicing searching with your transceiver, and observing terrain. At some point during the week, schedule your 60-minute massage and a yoga session at the Yoga Studio.
