Prerequisites
Our Grand Teton climbs emphasize client participation. It is Exum's philosophy that the more climbers actively participate in the climb, the more enjoyable and rewarding the experience will be.
Exum's Grand Teton prerequisite classes teach you the specific techniques and systems Exum uses to climb the peak. Our methods have proven highly effective for thousands of Exum's clients, and we are certain they will be effective for you. Climbers with no prior experience, only indoor climbing experience, or no outdoor multi-pitch climbing experience are encouraged to take two days of instruction (Multi-Pitch Climbing - Level I and Level II) prior to a Grand Teton attempt. Climbers with multi-pitch climbing experience are welcome to take the classes, but can also choose to prepare for their climb with a private guide. In June and early July you will also need to build a day into your schedule for snow climbing instruction, which is often required prior to a summit attempt.
