Before you embark on such a serious endeavor, however, we highly recommend training in Wyoming in several Exum programs designed specifically to prepare you for the requisite skills of extended expeditions:

• Professional Mountain Guides "Exploring the world one adventure at a time." Founded by Exum guide Jim Williams, Professional Mountain Guides was established in 1985. During the past 15 years, PMG has become well known for an excellent safety record and the many successful ascents their clients have made of the world's highest mountains. Specializing in custom trips catering to small groups, PMG is now arranging climbs in Nepal, China, Bhutan, and South America. In addition to climbing trips, PMG is also known for a wide range of cultural expeditions. For 2002, they are broadening their selection of treks and cultural expeditions in Nepal, Tibet, China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Peru, Argentina, and Chile.
